![]() Scyer, in essence, is a man who's capable of using Psi powers to the fullest, and in his role as a government agent his multiple strengths are used for defeating criminal organizations as well as infiltrating rogue governments from the inside out. If you remember our E3 coverage, players take on the role of Psi hero Nick Scyer. In reality, it's almost like an entirely different game. On paper, nothing much has changed since the game was seen at E3 in May. So, what is this Psi stuff all about, anyway? If you have recently played the Crystal Dynamics game, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, and you've enjoyed the TK system, just quadruple the possibilities with Psi-Ops, and you have an inkling of Midway's new diamond in the rough. A bit of a mouthful, I admit, even a little X-File-ian, but the new name does connote the development team's goals far better. A pretty neat game that made its debut at E3, Midway seriously listened to the reception it received, went back to work on nearly all aspects of it, and has returned to show off the newly renamed game, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, formerly known as ESPionage, however, is something of a revelation. While Midway usually isn't the first place gamers look for innovative new games, in this world everything is possible. ![]()
